Purchaser
Location: Bay Minette, AL

Basic Function:
The Purchaser is responsible for the operational elaboration of Quincy’s purchasing policy in terms of quality, price and delivery performance and achieve the purchasing goals. The ideal candidate will have a dynamic, motivating personality with strong communication skills and a creative and innovative attitude. Some overnight travel is required for this position. Job responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:

Principle Duties:

  • Responsible for price analysis and price negotiations
  • Follow up of quality performance (together with the SQA engineer) and delivery performance
  • Develop and control a cost reducing program
  • Together with colleagues from Engineering, work on product development
  • Develop & supply agreements and negotiate with suppliers
  • Elaborate projects that lead to further standardization
  • Screen the market for technical and commercial alternatives both on local and international    level
  • Responsible for the administrative, financial, economic follow-up of the suppliers
  • Responsible for the follow-up supplier performance and adjust them
  • Ensure that suppliers develop themselves in accordance with our quality and logistic         demands
  • Responsible for follow up of all technical and policy developments in the supplier market that   can be of interest to Quincy
  • MAY BE REQUIRED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS REQUESTED, DIRECTED, OR     ASSIGNED

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in a technical function or production environment is an asset
  • Experience in a similar function is a plus
  • Degree in Industrial, Civil or Commercial Engineer or in Applied Economics
  • Must have a large interest in industrial production and supply

Additional Requirements:

  • Requires regular short overnight trips domestic/abroad
  • Must have a dynamic, motivating personality with strong communicative skills and a creative   and innovative attitude
  • Must have good language skills

Value Stream Planner I
Location: Bay Minette, AL

Basic Function:
Value Stream Planner I reports to the Materials Manager with a dotted line relationship to the Value Stream Planner II. The Value Stream Planner I will be responsible for planning materials support customer requests through purchase order replenishments with MRP, ARP, Kanban, and SCIP systems.

In addition to planning the value stream, the Value Stream Planner I has primary responsibility for expediting all material replenishment types within the value stream. This includes utilizing the support services of Bay Minette, AL water spiders and full service suppliers.

The Value Stream Planner I position will act as the cross-trained backup to the Value Stream Planner II.

Principle Duties:

  • Review Planner Reports to monitor assigned product to support unit or machine shop build
  • Convert customer request dates into viable production schedules
  • Monitor daily production schedules to manage the budgeted shipping schedule
  • Provide for purchase orders and scheduled releases to ensure material delivery to meet       production schedules
  • Maintain the material input to meet the forecast/material receipt plan each month through     confirmation of delivery schedules and expediting the supplier. Material over and above the    forecast requires additional approvals
  • Assist SCIP/ pull systems with point-of-use (end users) versus warehouse locations
  • Assist ECN (Engineering Change Notice) activities and implementation start dates of        assigned product. Work with Materials and Engineering to set effective dates and ensure     timely implementation
  • Update inventory Back-flush (BF) matrix in conjunction with ECN’s. This includes drawing     revisions and new P/N’s
  • Administer Purchase Debit Requests (PDR’s) in a timely manner
  • Administer purchase orders, vendor masters and item masters
  • Administer problem invoice issues that may arise of assigned suppliers in a timely manner
  • Manage assigned cost reduction projects
  • Manage assigned supplier/product transition projects
  • Monitor Supplier Performance (Quarterly QQP)
  • Disposition/management of E&O of assigned product
  • MAY BE REQUIRED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS REQUESTED, DIRECTED, OR     ASSIGNED

Accountability:

  • Consistent maintenance of favorable and effective employee relations
  • Accurate tracking of information, organized and easy retrieval of files and records
  • Must maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources issues

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree: Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or Education
  • No minimum material planning experience
  • Will consider years of experience in place of education with the permission of the Vice       President of Operations-Bay Minette, AL

Training Requirements:

  • 5S Training
  • TCV Training
  • General Safety Training

Additional Requirements:

  • Required to be able to move about the facility (standing, walking)
  • While on shop floor, must wear safety glasses and steel toe shoes at all times
