Area Sales Manager, Los Angeles, CA
The primary responsibility of the Area Sales Manager is to manage sales activities of Quincy Compressor products through independent distributors, OEM customers and defined direct accounts in the Los Angeles area. The Area Manager is to perform all assigned tasks to assure that sales goals are achieved and manage all customer-related activities and problems within the assigned area.
Key Duties
- Maintain close relationship with current distributors, jointly develop sales goals for all products, evaluate progress, and make corrections to activities where necessary to achieve optimum market coverage.
- Formally complete distributor evaluation. Develop specific action plans to address weaknesses and effectively convey these plans to distribution management. Evaluate progress to plan and influence distribution management to take actions required.
- Work with Distributors to assist with end user sales calls. Help the distributor locate, contact, qualify and secure business with existing or potential direct customers, OEM’s, resale and National Accounts.
- Train Distributor sales staff.
- Develop additional general or specialty channels of sale where necessary in order to achieve maximum sales to specific markets or for specific products.
- Locate, contact, qualify and secure business with existing or potential direct customers, OEMs, re-sale and National Accounts for our products and services.
- Plan, schedule and conduct sales meetings on a regular basis in order to instruct distributor personnel on existing and new product offerings, engineering and policy changes, special pricing, terms and discounts, and new market opportunities and competitive actions.
Desired Qualifications
- Resident of greater Los Angeles area or Southern CA preferred
- Bachelors degree in business or engineering
- Minimum of 5 years sales experience, preferably in the compressor industry, with proven ability to grow market share
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High energy and driven, requiring little direct supervision
- Strong business acumen and negotiating skills
