Customer Care Specialist/Inside Sales Location: Bay Minette, AL
Job Description:
Basic Function: Provides customer service for our distributors and customers as it relates to Sales order processing and technical assistance.
Nature & Scope: Liaison between customer, distributor, field sales and factory personnel.
Principle Duties:
- Audits the accuracy of the information received on all incoming orders for rotary screw products. If incorrect information is found, the Internal Sales Coordinator will be responsible for contacting the appropriate distributor personnel and clarifying or correcting the information. Enters correct order, schedules ship dates and issues shop order number.
- Provides technical information as needed. Sizes equipment based on customer’s needs and provides available information concerning options required or requested.
- Promptly handles customer inquiries of all types. Answers routine product questions.
- Works with production department to expedite orders when distributors ask for improvement in the delivery schedule.
- Responsible for competitive price quoting based on standard gross profit margins, discounting guidelines and competitive pressures on specific jobs.
- Completes change requests to orders that have been processed ad scheduled for production or shipment.
- Verifies confirming orders against as-taken orders. Should discrepancies be found, contacts distributors and determines source of error and corrective action required.
- Cancels orders upon requests and follows through with all correct paperwork. This should be done in an expedient manner to reduce the cost impact of cancellation.
- Produces special reports and analysis as requested.
- Serves as backup for both Order Entry and Market Analyst as required.
- Maintains a positive attitude when dealing with customer, distributors and other employees.
- Accepts and completes any special projects and assignments that are not principal duties of this position but are in line with the goals and objectives of this department and Division.
- MAY BE REQUIRED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS REQUESTED, DIRECTED, OR ASSIGNED.

- Reports to Sales and Service Manager
Education and Experience:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
Job Knowledge, Skills, Availability:
- Must have knowledge of rotary screw compressors and compressed air applications, including competitive offerings and field applications.
- Must have experience with bid specifications and preparing competitive price quotes.
- Must have experience with order entry and customer service functions.
- Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), excellent computer skills and be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

- TCV Training
- General Safety Training
Physical Demands:
- Required to be able to move about the facility (standing, walking).
Personal Protective Equipment:
- While on shop floor, must wear safety glasses and steel toed shoes at all times.
Work Environment:
- Mainly an office environment, with some exposure to a plant environment.
