Compressed Air Audit

Compressed air is not free!

In most plants, compressed air is treated as though it were free. However, as with any other production utility (i.e. steam, chilled water, etc.) there are direct costs and overhead costs associated with the production of compressed air.

So how much does it cost to operate just one 100 hp air compressor?

The cost for electrical power to operate this compressor (at an average rate of $.07 kWh) is over $55,000 per year. Considering most plants have multiple compressors of various sizes and types, you can see how quickly power costs add up. In fact, energy costs represent as much as 75% of the total cost of ownership of a compressed air system.

Quincy Systems Auditing Service can reduce energy costs by as much as 50% and maintenance costs by 30%.

Quincy's Engineered Audit uses an eight step approach. A typical analysis requires one week or less of onsite time and consists of the following procedures:

1.  Analyze Supply Equipment
2.  Measure Storage Capability
3.  Qualify Air Demand
4.  Resolve Production Problems
5.  Create System Diagrams
6.  Determine Operating Costs
7.  Develop Action Plan
8.  Provide Complete Report
