Manufacturing Engineer Location: Quincy, IL
Job Description
This position requires a role in the coordination of various Manufacturing Engineering resources to best fit the department schedules and deadlines. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for improving methods, processes, equipment and to optimize production requirements. Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide general manufacturing support to all divisional areas, as directed
- Control, document and reduce manufacturing costs, both direct and indirect
- Develop standards, both direct and indirect
- Identify and implement cost improvements
- Audit and improve upon standards and methods to insure accuracy
- Develop plant and workplace layouts using computerized methods
- Develop and maintain routing sequences to include standards, tooling and special gauging required
- Establish alternate manufacturing methods and standards
- Perform economic studies on various alternate equipment, methods and processes
- Develop costs on new design models and major engineering changes
- Proactive identification of safety issues and resolution identified safety concerns
- Identify and address ergonomic issues with supervisor and plant personnel.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Technology. Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences with equivalent experience is necessary, if a Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Technology field has not been obtained.
- Strong communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Computer literacy required
- Ability to read, interpret and apply blue print drawings
- Strong written communication skills
- Must be willing to travel and/or relocate
