Value Stream Leader Location: Quincy, IL
Job Description
This position is responsible for the planning, organizing and supervision of the hourly personnel in a manner that contributes to meeting planned production schedules, improves shop performance, meets EHS requirements and enforces quality standards. This position is to provide daily leadership and direction on shop production processes from material receipt to shop to invoicing shipped product. Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintain good working relationship with Quincy/Ortman employees
- Positively communicate goals and opportunities available to all employees
- Provide leadership to promote good labor relations, grievance processing and shop communications to attain productivity targets
- Direct daily production to meet scheduled requirements and key performance indicators
- Provide coaching and counseling to work force
- Monitor and analyze labor reports to maintain the required daily level of productivity
- Maintain an effective control system to allow employees, as well as customers, to provide feedback
- Ensure required tooling is available to shop
- Lead HPWO team to eliminate waste, develop new methods and processes to improve flow
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in conjunction with plant safety requirements
- Support shop efforts to implement and maintain EHS standards
- Assist in reviewing and solving all departmental accidents
- Implement and enforce quality standards as required by management
- Implement and manage appropriate measurement and monitoring system to minimize defects making it to customer
- Audit shop processes to ensure quality standards and methods are being met
- This position is accountable to the Ortman Operations Manager
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- 5 to 7 years experience with supervising 15 to 20 employees-preferred
- High School Diploma required with Associates Degree preferred
- Experience with Microsoft office software preferred
- Experience with quality systems
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hourly labor
Physical Demands:
- Medium, manufacturing environment
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Safety glasses
- Steel toed safety shoes if required to enter working areas of plant
Work Environment:
- Mainly a plant environment with some office exposure
