The Compressed Air Challenge estimates that virtually every compressed air system offers a 25% minimum energy savings when properly engineered, resulting in a significant reduction in energy consumption and a savings of tens of thousands of dollars. Properly engineered systems can also enhance productivity, product quality and safety, as well as mitigate waste and downtime.

To encourage every compressed air system user to reduce energy consumption and maximize energy savings, Quincy Compressor developed the award-winning EQ process.

Quincy’s EQ (Efficiency Quotient) is a do-it-yourself process for plant engineers to improve the efficiency of compressed air systems through the use of industry-approved best practices without having to hire expensive external auditors. Engineers can download the self-analysis worksheet, and in a short period, obtain a detailed analysis of the energy efficiency of the plant.

Once the engineer determines the existing EQ rating from the worksheet, he or she may choose to have a Quincy representative analyze their system using Quincy's innovative Efficiency Quotient Analyzer data logger. The logged data is then uploaded to the Quincy EQ web site for in-depth technical analyses of the demand and supply sides of the compressed air system. The end result is a customized audit report identifying multiple solutions for energy saving opportunities.
